Handling "Let me see"
We want to ensure your dog is comfortable with hands coming near them. We may do this for general health checks, vet visits and grooming. With this training, They should learn that hands and a source of something good.
Exercise: Giving him a cue of “Let me see” tells your dog that a hand is coming towards them.

-
Have your dog on a non slip surface in front of you
-
Say “Let me see”
-
Move hand in low towards shoulder
-
Say “yes” if the have remained still and comfortable
-
Then reward your dog
Keep practising this but going closer each time.

BUT ALWAYS KEEP AN EYE ON THEIR BODY LANGUAGE.
If they show signs they are not comfortable eg. moving away, flicking tongue out, looking at you from the side then stop and have a break, then reset and make the next try easier for them.

Over time move the hand into useful positions for teeth and ear checks.

Have your treats in a pot next to you so your hands are free until you go to reward them.

If there is any growling, please stop and contact me.
