Enrichment Toys and Feeding
Enrichment is all about getting dogs to use their noses and brain in order to fulfil natural behaviour. It can make them feel relaxed and confident.

It also teaches them how to bring out their natural dog behaviours in their home where it is easy and safe. This would include, chewing, licking, sniffing/foraging, digging, searching.
-
Remember
-
Sniffing = Money in the emotional bank!
-
Dogs need 50% physical stimulation and 50% mental stimulation.
-
Also a 20 min sniffing session is equal to a 45 min street walk with the energy it expends.
-
To increase the opportunity for your dog to decompress, use more enrichment toys to deliver their daily food.
You can use...
-
Snuffle mat
-
Licki mat
-
Lotus Ball
-
Football cones
-
Snuffle Cage Ball
-
Kongs
-
Food in hummus pot placed around home/garden
-
Cardboard boxes (as long as they don’t swallow cardboard)
-
Empty toilet roll tubes (as long as they don’t swallow cardboard)
-
Hide kibble/treats in the toys or around the home, then invite them out to ‘Find it’ and help themout as much as they needs.
